Just a quick moment to thank you all for your contribution to the success of the LSAD events in Design Week Limerick, as we officially close off our events.

The events ranged from the Knit Exhibition curated by Liz Spillane "A Compendium of Knitting Techniques", Mike Fox’s 'LSAD: Institute Without Boundaries' conference on art and design education for art and design educators (featuring interviews with alumni Joanne Hynes and Ciara Cantwell), Elaine Riordan’s lecture on  ‘Bricks in the Rain, Contemporary Ceramics inspired by China’- a multi-disciplinary exhibition of ceramic art, film and sound, a talk by Sophie Waterfield, knitted textile, knitwear designer and MA student at the Royal College of Art,  a  lecture by ceramicist Ken Eastman in association with ICE and the Crafts Council of Ireland, a talk by postgraduate student of design, Caitlin Quinn on her research at the Limerick City Gallery of Art and, last night, Visual Communications event spearheaded by Paul Tarpey, “3 LONDON DESIGNERS” (Dirk Van Doren of design pioneers Tomato, Adam Whitaker of Lyrie! a multi-platformed design hub and Hugh Tarpey of AMVBBDVO ) an evening of design presentation and discussion with an after event social.  Finally, a s a glorious end to a great week, LSAD lecturer Dave Phelan won the prestigious Grand Prix at the IDI Design Awards , while LSAD graduate Claire Silke was highly comme
