Design Week Limerick 2012
Design Week Limerick 2012 is part of Design Week 2012 in conjunction with Crown Paints- happening all over Ireland from the 5th to the 12th of November 2012. See the official web-site at http://www.designweek.ie/
Here in Limerick we've put together a listing of the many and varied events happening around the city at this time (see our Events 2012 page for details). Limerick School of Art and Design hosts 'LSAD: Institute without Boundaries'; a conference for art and design educators, 3LONDON DESIGNERS, an evening with top London designers Dirk Van Doren of design pioneers Tomato, Adam Whitaker of Lyrie! a multi-platformed design hub and Hugh Tarpey of AMVBBDVO , talks by international ceramicist Ken Eastman, knit and textile designer Sophie Waterfield of the RCA, and Elaine Riordan, chair of Ceramics Ireland on the Ceramics exhibition 'Bricks In The Rain', as well as hosting a knit exhibition 'A Compendium of Knitting Techniques'. At UL, SAUL 's public lecture schedule features 'Reality Hunger' featuring Peter Beard of Landroom in discussion with Irénée Scalbert The Hunt Museum hosts a Pecha Kucha evening on 'Design and Limerick', a lecture on Italian Maiolica, and a guided tour of exhibition 'Instruments of Perception'. In other words, something for everyone to visit and take part in during Design Week 2012.
